The story
We're a men's 4.0 team in Dallas, which means we're decent, we're not getting any better, and we've made our peace with that. We show up, we play hard enough, and then we sit around for a while.
If you've played league tennis you've met the other kind of 4.0 player. The one who warms up like it's Wimbledon, questions every call, and wants to talk about his forehand grip in the parking lot. We love that guy. We are not that guy.
One afternoon our captain put a loose, nothing-on-the-line session on the calendar and called it a hit and giggle. It turned into the name of a shirt, and the shirt turned into this. That's really the whole story.
Who it's for
You like tennis a normal amount. You'd rather have a good rally than a good record, you've never once filmed your own serve, and if a match runs long you start thinking about what's in the cooler.
If that's you, welcome. If you own a ball machine, you can still buy the shirt, we just might not put you in the lineup.

The mark
HIT in a heavy slab, giggle in a brush script, deep navy and Carolina blue on bone. That's the part that goes on hangtags, hem labels and the top of this page. The tennis guy stays on the shirts, in his own colors, where he belongs.
Wordmark · navy + Carolina on bone
Monogram · hangtags and favicons
Reversed · bone on navy

Merch art · Original Mascot back print · 11 in
Every garment carries the H&G monogram on the hem label. The art on the back is free to be whatever it wants, which is mostly a tennis ball in sunglasses.
